IS AN INTENSIVE RIGHT FOR ME?

A Focused Approach

Integrative EMDR and Somatic Trauma Healing Intensives are not a universal fit, but they do work quite well for many people. They are designed for individuals who are ready for concentrated therapeutic and coaching work, and who will benefit from structure, pacing, and extended support.

This page will help you understand whether the intensive format aligns with your needs, timing, and goals.

Who Typically Benefits from an Intensive

Intensives are well-suited for people who:

  • want to address a specific trauma or memory that continues to impact daily life

  • desire to boost performance but are struggling to break through due to lingering or consistent patterns

  • feel stuck despite previous therapeutic work

  • are navigating a major life transition and need clarity or resolution

  • have internal patterns that have not shifted through weekly sessions

  • prefer focused, immersive work over long-term weekly therapy

  • have stable enough daily functioning to handle concentrated processing

  • are motivated and open to engaging deeply with the material that arises

Many clients choose an intensive because they are at a turning point and want meaningful support in moving forward.

What an Intensive Requires From You

You may be a good fit if you can:

  • sustain attention for several hours with supportive breaks

  • Tolerate a range of emotional states

  • reflect on your experiences

  • follow simple regulation practices

  • maintain a basic sense of safety in your daily life

  • engage with a steady, structured process

You do not have to be “strong” or “together.” You need only be willing, open, and resourced enough to engage.

When Weekly Therapy Is a Better Match

For Intensive work to be effective and safe, certain conditions must be in place:

  • No active untreated addiction (alcohol, drugs, compulsive behaviors, etc)

  • No untreated severe mental health conditions (psychosis, mania, severe depression, suicidality and/or self-harm)

  • No domestic violence: clients should have a safe place to return to following the Intensive

  • Financial stability

If you do not meet these preconditions, it doesn’t mean that you can’t benefit from an Intensive, however, seeking stabilization first is paramount. If you are experiencing any of the above preconditions or symptoms, please seek support from a licensed local practitioner who can offer, or provide a referral for, services.

Is one Intensive enough?

For many clients, a single Intensive creates tectonic shifts in how they experience themselves in the world. These changes are dramatic, and open up possibilities that were previously unavailable. The impact of past trauma on their life is significantly reduced. The reality of post-traumatic growth and resilience is embodied and integrated.

For other clients, Intensives are a regular way to continue to tap into creative genius, realize their wildest dreams and integrate the inner work necessary to build a beautiful life. In this way, regular intensives become part of a larger process - an annual reset, reorganization, and reboot that facilitates peak performance and helps maintain equilibrium through the ups and downs of life.

Whatever your needs and desires, we are here for you.

Is now the right time?

Many clients intuitively know when they have reached a moment where they want to reorganize their inner world. Signs you may be ready for this work include:

  • You feel “done” carrying an old story

  • You’re tired of looping through the same patterns

  • You sense you’re on the edge of a shift

  • You finally have the time, space, or support to do deeper work

  • You feel pulled toward resolution rather than avoidance

If this resonates, an Intensive may be the right next step.

Continued Support

For Intensive clients, Cory offers the possibility of ongoing virtual coaching support for months and years to come. The cost for additional sessions is additional. Sessions are booked by clients as-needed, and are offered as Cory’s scheduling permits.

The end of an Intensive is not the end of your relationship with Cory. This is not a “5 days and you’re fixed!” scenario. These are deep, meaningful shifts in your experience of self that will continue to unfold for the rest of your life, and Cory is here to support you on your journey.

The Consultation Call

A consultation is required for all prospective clients. Its purpose is to determine whether this format is:

  • appropriate

  • safe

  • well-timed

  • aligned with your goals

This will also give you an opportunity to meet Cory, and talk about your desires for your life. Cory will ask about your history, current functioning, and support systems, and you’ll have space to ask questions.

If an Intensive is not recommended, she will offer guidance on next steps.

Cost: $100 (applied to the intensive if booked)

Next Steps
